The great thing about antepost betting on a season long event is the ability to be able to 'trade' throughout the season to ensure a profitable outcome.

I've analysed the last ten Super Rugby seasons, obvioulsy the format has changed throughout, and my analysis has thrown up some very strong trends.

Key Trends

• 7 of the last 10 final winners finished in the top 6 places in the previous regular season
• 1 of the last 10 final winners was an Australian team
• 7 of the last 10 final winners were either the Bulls, Chiefs or Crusaders

Applied to 2017 Season

Applying those trends leaves us just the one team in the form of the CHIEFS. If improving from the 2016 season they must go very close in 2017 and I'm pretty sure the best-priced 9-2 about them will give us a great trading position. With an impressive first win under their belt I think they'll take a lot of stopping.

Spot-fixing - you will never, ever be able to stop it

According to this report , IPL tournaments so far have been rife with spot-fixing - that is fixing minor elements of the game - runs in a single over, number of wides bowled etc. The curious part of that article is that the Income Tax department are supposed to have found these crimes. Dabbling with laying the field in-running at various prices today, not just one price, but several in the same race. Got several matched in the previous race at Brighton, then this race came along at Nottingham. Such a long straight at Nottingham makes punters often over-react and think the finish line is closer than it actually is. As you can see by the number of bets matched, there was plenty of volatility in this in-play market. It's rare you'll get a complete wipe-out with one horse getting matched at all levels, but it can happen, so don't give yourself too much risk...
